The 2018 Season is well underway!

The 2018 season is well under way now and we are happy to report that we have had very happy guests and limits of chinooks are the norm!

Untouched by the restrictions other parts of the coast have faced in chinook limits, the waters of Kyuquot have been producing consistent catches of chinook salmon.  Almost all of the guests to date have limited out on chinook.  Coho are starting to show up and halibut have been plentiful out at the Whale Tail.

While it's been off and on in the nearshore waters, the outer waters have been very consistent for salmon, halibut and ling cod.

The fishing seems to be getting stronger inside as each day passes.  Looks like the more local runs of fish that travel closer to shore are a little late in arriving but it does look like they are arriving now!

The weather has been very good for the most part with very little rain but those sunny skies bring the NW winds with them.  However, the usual pattern for NW winds has seen early mornings as calm (except the last couple of days) and the wind building during the day.

The season is off to a great start and with most guests coming back again next year to see us again!  Great stuff!
